Well, The quadratic formula is [(-b +- sqrt(b^ - 4ac)] / 2a
In the equation 5x^2 + 12x + 3 = 0
a = 5
b = 12
c = 3

[-12 +- sqrt(144 - (4*5*3))] / 2(5)
[-12 +- sqrt(84)] / 10
[-12 +- (2 *sqrt(21)] / 10
Then, divide through by 2
[-6 +- sqrt(21)] / 5 => C.
