Sometimes it is easy to identify the date a song was made by how it was produced. Phil Spector and his Wall of Sound is early 60's at its finest. Groups like the Ronettes and the Crystals embody that sound. Ted Templeton perfected the base groove for some of the 1970's biggest hits....The Groove Line or Boogie Nights by Heatwave. Off the Wall by Michael jackson are good examples. Mutt Lange;s influence on melodic hair metal is an 80's trademark. Just Listen to Def leppard's Pyromania or Journey's Escape and you get the idea. In summation, songs sound dated due to the technology or influence of the time. there is no doubt what years a song with the word Boogie in it came from! BA: Highway to Hell - AC/DC - good luck finishing the project.
