Ok, now, there are a few major differences between the two games. They both are MMORPGs (Guild Wars is actually a Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game ), however they focus on two different things. In Guild Wars, your main priority is to do quests to save the world, but during that you level the combat abilities of your character. In WoW, your main priority is to save the world, but by doing so you also level the combat abilities of your character AS WELL AS leveling other things such as fishing and mining. WoW is like runescape, where you can almost live in the game (Create a character, do all you would in real life) While Guild Wars only allows you to play a role in a combat conflict. A bright side of Guild Wars, however, is that they try to make the characters and places more realistic than the characters of WoW, as well as not paying a fee for playing, which WoW does. The models in Guild Wars seem to be using more polygons in order to create more realistic looks, while the models in WoW are more polygon saving.

To conclude, I will summarize my points.
1 - Guild Wars is Free of charge, while WoW needs a monthly subscription.

2 - Guild Wars has more realistic graphics.

3 - WoW features unique game-play allowing you to do whatever you want, ranging form fishing to magic.

So, it comes down to your personal taste. If you want more realistic experience - Guild Wars is for you. If you want a more Life like/free game-play - WoW is for you. It is never too bad to try both. You can find a 10 day free copy of WoW in stores like Walmart that will allow you to play for free for a small amount of time.

I really hope that I helped. Good luck, and happy adventures!

It all really depends on your type of gaming. Guild Wars is more into Super Hero, urban surroundings and a great variety of charcters to design. Then compared to W.O.W. wow has a lot more players and it is more Fantasy Characters, Enviormental sorroundings. But the classes are limited and you cannot change your facial features or things like that. Also wow contains vast areas much larger than Guild Wars.

Ok, I bought Guild Wars a few months ago....and while it looked good, it just wasnt appealing to me as I prefer a true MMO...

World Of warcraft I just started playing, and to tell you the hinest truth..no other MMO can compare to it for pure entertainment value. It is by far the most fun game I have ever played.

I disagree that Guild Wars is better. Just cuz it's free doesn't mean it's way better than World of Warcraft. I say WoW has far better gameplay than GW will ever have. Unless GW snaps out with a super awesome expansion, I doubt it can blow away WoW. Now, if you count Burning Crusade for WoW, no GW expansion is good enough to beat Burning Crusade.

Anyway, I like FF XII more than WoW. FF XII is better than GW and WoW(to me, at least).

Take my advice. If you haven't bought WoW, don't.

Guild Wars is much better because you don't have to pay for a subscription. That blows any other feature that WoW has away.
