It's getting difficult to know what a guy still can and cannot do. And I don't mean anything negative.

It is accepted and loved. Being a gentlemen is a positive, not a negative. All that "thug" mentality that men try to show is really becoming so stereotypical so some men are not seen as gay, but being a true gentlemen will always have you in a class by yourself. Dont change to try to appeal to the masses, you will become a drone like they have.

Yes. It is alright for a man to hold the door open for a woman. However, it would be rude for someone, man or woman to shut the door in another persons face instead of just holding it. There just aren't enough well mannered decent men out there!

It will depend on the woman. If she hesitates at the door, open it for her. If she goes before you and opens it herself, then she has not been taught the finer etiquette of showing deference to the other person, first. Of course, she could be a card carrying feminist and carry you across the threshold.

It is acceptable to open a door for a woman. Most gentlemen would do so regardless of what the current practice of the day is.

It replaced into that a lady would demurely stand there waiting for the guy to go back and open the 2d door yet now, women are more perfect and ought to handle a door themselves. purely initiate beginning the 2d door, possibility is he will rush up and take over for you. If no longer, purely open the 2d door and both ask him to enter please, or let him carry the door at the same time as you enter first. circumstances have replaced and what's proper has replaced too--it truly is now extra versatile and "useful" comes into play. If the doorways are actual heavy, for sure have the guy (who's many times more perfect) open the 2d door too. And if it makes your guy sense extra masculine to open both doorways for you, then let him. it truly is purely no longer significant adequate to quibble about. in case your guy doesn't care, purely open the 2d door your self and get on with the relaxing interior.

It's rare in this day and age for a man to open a door, I like it and it's respectful, just like if I get into the car after he opens it and I get in, and then I make sure the doorlock on his side is unlocked when he gets into the car, nothing negative about that!!!

I think it's wonderful when a man holds a door for a woman.

Yes its acceptable. I often hold the door open for strangers, men and women. Just a courtesy thing. But when a guy goes out of his way to do it for a girl I think its sweet, and very appreciated.

It is a sign of respect to allow another person to go first as well as good manners.

I certainly will open a door for a woman. If she opens a door for me, that's cool, too, but I prefer to open the door for her.

Yes! You should hold the door open for anyone. I just hope that if you do, the person thanks you. I hate when people don't even acknowledge that you did something polite for them.

I think people have gone way too far with the politically correct thing!
