Open up Windows Explorer. Browse to C:\Windows \system32 \drivers \etc. Open up the file "HOSTS" in Notepad.

At the end... add the line...

127.0.0.1 www.google.com

That will block anything on Google. If they try to go there, they'll get an error page.

There isn't really anyway to do this with no additional software. I would recommend buying a parental control program like NetNanny. It will block all inappropriate web sites with a password. This is the type of programs that schools use to block their students from looking at inappropriate material.

The other option is to not let your kids go on the internet.

Get a third party program that will block the sites. Actually Zonealarm internet security is pretty good at blocking sites. its an anti virus, firewall , parental controls and more.

Just tell them to be responsible with what they're looking at. I mean it's absoloutely easy to unblock websites or nanny programs! I'm only 9 years old and I know how to edit registrys!

If they are young then try http://www.tucows.com/preview/320513
It is OK. However as they get older (14+) try talking to them as all filters are easy to get around.
Other options are to keep the computer in a central location so you can see what they do.
