Bailbonds Men put up money to get folks out of jail, the bondsman hires the bounty hunter to hunt the folks who skip out on the bond(don't show up for court).

a bail bondsman bails you out of jail. if you fail to appear in court the bail-bondsman hires the bounty hunter to track down and bring him back to court, the bounty hunter gets paid for bringing him in

a bondsman pays your bail. if you skip the bounty hunter hunts you down for a price.
you need plenty of money and connections with local law enforcement and lots of luck. this is a high risk bidness

It all depends what state you live in, I live in Florida and work as a PI. The bountyhunter is on the "street" and the bail bondsman is who handles the actual money and getting the bond. In some cases they pay the bondsman.

bails bondmen usually take pay upfront to get a party released on bail, while a bounty hunter brings in fugitives and other people that are sought.
