It's a little hard to answer without seeing the phrase in context, but upon first reading it I would say that the tone of the yell (or some other type of voice, or even just a writer's words) implies some sort of passion or excitement or strong desire to be free of something. That "something" may not be tangible like a leash or collar; it might be a situation you can't see or feel directly, like oppression.

as if someone is yelling. in their tone, it shows that they are finally free.

for example, when slavery was abolished, the slaves were most likely yelling with freedom in their voices.

guess it means you have the opportunity to release what you feel, think and say in a yell :)

so it's freedom when you yell cause you release your thoughts and feelings to the wind since no one else wants to listen to you...
