I am rusty on ln but for the second one....

Change it to power form: x^2 + 19 = 10^2

This gives x^2 = 100 - 19

x^2 = 81

x = 9 or -9

Not sure if this is right but...
For the first one...I know ln is just log to base e...

This becomes e = 3x

e/3 = x

12 – x = -7 12-X+7=-7+7 19-X=0 X=19

For the first one, you want to take the inverse of the natural log which is e^x. So,
e^1=3x or e=3x
therefore, x=e/3 or about .9060939428
you can always check your answer by plugging it back into the original equation.

ln(3x) = 1
3x = e^1
3x = e
x = (e/3)

------------------------------

log(x^2 + 19) = 2
x^2 + 19 = 10^2
x^2 + 19 = 100
x^2 = 81
x = -9 or 9
