Hi, I use a mop everyday at work. It sometimes get a terrible smell too. I usually wash it out very well with whatever cleaning solution that I am using at that time and then give it a good rinse and hang it up to air dry. It can also be wrung out too. But my mop hangs over the slop sink, so I usually just let it drip dry overnight and when I get to work the next day it's nice and bright and odor free. We usually do the same thing at home, but we hang the mop on the clothes line outside with the same results.

How do you set your mop up after use? Once used to mop, it should be rinsed and set with the mophead up to ensure it dries well. If you have an odor in your mop, you can either soak it in a bleach-water solution to cleanse it, or throw it out and replace.

Purchase a small bottle of the laundry oxygen booster in powder form.
Add one scoop to your mopping solution along with your regular floor soap.
It helps to release more of the trapped soils from the mop and allows you to go longer between washings.
We recommend once a week for normal use mops and 2x a week for industrial use mops.
This will not harm floors, does not adversely affect any finish we mopped on, did not have any negative impact of the variety of floor cleaners we tested with including, all purpose, degreaser, neutral cleaners and heavy duty cleaners.

bleach it, the smell is caused by nasty little bacteria. the bleach will kill them all off. make sure you rinse it thouroughly or you could bleach something you dont want to.
