Yes, it is free but I heard that it causes problems on your computer...takes up a lot of memory and causes your computer to work really slow. On top of that, if you have an ipod...I recommend not transferring music from limewire because it causes glitches on your ipod.

Limewire basic is free. You can choose to not install the "junk" during the installation.
Limewire pro costs you. Limewire pro gives you more speed though.

yes they have a free limewire. and if you turn your uploads off you should be fine. Some of them programs install newdotnet onto your computer. Once limewire is installed go to your add and remove programs and look for newdotnet or anything else it might have installed and get rid of them. Limewire will still run fine without them.
