Don't hint... tell them clearly and kindly. I have to do this all the time... I am a teacher... I work with grades 6 to 9. Sometimes kids just don't know when to start wearing antiperspirant. So I simply tell them (privately) that they are entering puberty, and about the importance of good hygiene... give them some cool deodorant... and the problem's gone. Good Luck. It is awkward.

Just give them a bar of soap or some perfume or something to spray on themselves as a gift.

i agree with the first person...giving them a nice gift basket of shower gel/soap/cologne would be a very subtle way of getting them to change their hygiene practices....good luck :)

straight up...if they don't get the hints...no other way to do it...just make sure you smile when you say it...and hand them some soap...deodorant too....

wear a clothespin on your nose when around them. If they still do not get it, then at least you have the clothespin to help you.
