my son received a PS2 as a gift and we have no idea what the 4 digit password is to unlock it to play movies. Is there a way around this???

when a movie is telling you that you need a password, do the following
PUSH select first!
now, enter 7-4-4-4
now it will ask if you'd like to change the password - i recommend making it 0-0-0-0 so you only need to keep pushing the X button to get through the passwords

default is usually four zero's - 0000 - but if you bought it second hand it could be anything best of luck

did you try 0000 or maybe 1234?? thats just my guess. if you cant figure it out call sony.
