There should be RULE OF LAW in this U.S.A. that is ONLY by specific legal empowerment does any agent of the gov. exercise authority. ASK TSA what law empowers them(?)
So Far, I've not gotten anything close to an answer!
and if they are NOT legally empowered, what are they doing searching travelers and demanding that we give up property in the name of security?
He who gives up liberty in exchange for "security" deserves neither!

It might be the onerous blatantly unconstitutional U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act.

I've tried to read it, but nobody can decipher it, not even attorneys.

Basically, that mysterious law means anything the government says it means, with no way to dispute it, and it allows the government to ignore the Constitution and inalienable rights.

Also, the bottom line is, they're holding all the cards and are backed up by men with guns, so they can do anything they want to, and they know it.

It says something about our government that the U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act was passed into law by unanimous vote, without any congressman even bothering to read it, and this outrage against Liberty was and is enthusiastically approved of by an overwhelming majority of the American public.

Incredibly, you will actually hear AMERICAN citizens say, "We need to give up freedom in order to be safe."

Our Republic and our Divinely inspired "CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES" will not be restored without a LOT of bloodshed.

Are we ready for that?

Who will fire the first shot?

Who will be the initial target?

The TSA is empowered by Congress to secure the airports. The legislation lays down what they can and can't do. Do you really believe if that was not the case that airports would have spent millions on new equipment, and that the government would have been so involved in the selection and running of the TSA?

Please don't quote me, I don't have my resource directly in front of me. But Abraham Lincoln once commented something to the effect that a democracy is only as strong as it's most libral citizen will allow and that a country cannot stand if it's liberal citizens are too weak in spirit.

It may be covered under the Patriot Act and understand that for what little inconvenience you now endure, we are so much the more safe. Lest we have a repeat of 9/11.

All they need is that the US populace think that they are allowed to do that for one reason or another. The TSA charter undoubtedly gives them powers, though how well they would stand to a constitutional challenge I don't know. Not well, I would think.
