By Kitty Genovese situation, I mean watch something terrible happen to someone right before your eyes and you do nothing about it. Once when I was in college (just after learning about Kitty Genovese) a man on the bus stop with me collapsed. At first me and the other 5 people on the bus stop just stood there. But after remebering Kitty, I went over to see if I could help. Then the others followed. Turns out it was just a drunk bum. Any similar experiences? Please Share.

I was sexually assaulted and there were many witnesses, though none of them called the police.

Even on summons, their evidence was vague at best because no one wanted to get involved.

As a result, there is now a rapist walking the streets.

Let that be a lesson to all of us - CALL THE POLICE!!!

Umm like being beaten in a pub car park while the police stood across the street watching and did nothing...

Or um like being beaten on the side of the road and a truck full of strong young men comes past, slows down and then cheers and drives on.....

Or um like when your whole family knows, including extended family who admit to knowing in later life, that you are the subject of mental, physical and sexual abuse and no one wants to ummmmmm yeah... 'interfere'.

Nahhhh cant think of anything.
