We have stopped exchanging gifts - what are some fun things to do at a family Christmas gathering with people aged from toddler to 70's? About 50 or so attendees.

Wait for all the adults to get really drunk and then pull out the video camera- bound to be a blast...especially the next christmas when you whip out the alchohol induced embarrassments. If that doesnt sound too appealing (or totally family appropriate), you can always exchange pictures about your kids to start a bragging war. Its bound to happen anyways, you may as well drop the formalities and admit it

Choosing which side of the family to go to on Christmas Eve has always been an issue for me and my sisters so, last year I decided that I would host it at my house. We invite everyone from all sides of the family, the more the merrier! We decide what type of menu we want to have, everyone brings something, this year we will have Italian, and we ask everyone to bring a $35 gift card wrapped where you can't see where it is from. When everyone arrives they draw a # out of a dish, after we eat, whomever has #1 gets to choose a gift card, they open it and then #2 goes, #2 can take #1's or another unwrapped card, if #2 takes #1's, #1 gets to draw again. Gift cards can only be taken twice then they are retired. After this is done, we all go outside to a decorated lo-boy full of hay bails and we go on a hayride through our city singing Christmas carols. This year will be our 2nd annual hay ride and although some thought it would be corny last year, they are the ones looking forward to this years. We had a blast and have talked about it all year. Make sure you take lots of pictures so you can make an album that you can look at next year because you may not see all of the people from this year until next. Make sure you have some sort of bound book that all your guests can sign and leave comments in. One more thing, we let the kids up to age 18 draw names and exchange $15.00 gifts. The gift card thing does not work for younger kids.
Good Luck and Merry Christmas to all!

Have a large dinner. Maybe afterwards watch a classic christmas movie or play charades. The toddlers could probably be of to the side playing with toys. It is a lot of people to entertain and you will proabaly have to do more than one thing if you want to appeal to that large age group with so many people. Good luck and merry christmas!

We were going to play Kubb, even with the undeniable fact that it replaced into too chilly to go out, even even with the reality that i'm contained in the southern hemisphere. you are able to check out the guidelines on Wikipedia. So we stayed interior and performed playing cards, Warlords and Scumbags, and Up and Down the River.
