This is not political speech. This is a central tenet of Christianity. PEACE ON EARTH.

Jesus preached non-violence as the proper stance -- he explicitly admonished NOT to use violence against evil. Either you believe what he preached or you do not. If you think he was naive -- or that his method would be naive in dealing with terrorism, then guess what? You're not a Christian and Jesus is ashamed of you.

It is the duty of every church to lead their congregations to spiritual ideals that help to bring people together for the betterment of mankind, and the basic tenets of their faith. The beliefs of any church are none of the governments business. However, endorsement of political parties or candidates are grounds for disallowing tax exemption, preaching against man's inhumanity to man, is not!

I believe that the tax exempt status should be stripped from all churches. ALL OF THEM christian, muslim, jew, buddhist, hindu, and wiccan. (Appologies to any I left out)

Taking away the tax exempt status of a church is pretty much the only threat government has over religion. If it wasn't there, they could say whatever they wished, and government couldn't do anything.

After all, didn't Christ say "Yield up to Cesar what is Cesar's and Yield up to god what is god's"

I think the government should not only tax the income of every religion, they should also tax ALL of their assets, and make them pay real estate taxes.

The tax should be retroactive for 200 years with penalties applied for non payment regardless of whether or not the tax was in effect or not.

I also think that all religious leaders should live in abject poverty just like Mother Theresa.

Wrong move on part of the Government. Church is a place of peace and peace it shall preach.

I don't think any churches should have tax exempt status at all- no matter what they preach.

Peace on earth can happen in one of 2 ways:

1. Fighting and defeating the evil

2. Surrendering and becoming the slaves of the evil.

Which one do you choose?

I DON'T THINK IT SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY FOR THAT TYPE OF THING BUT IN MY CASE I DON'T THINK THE CHURCH SHOULD HAVE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE! THE CHURCHES IN THIS COUNTRY OWN BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN PROPERTY AND DON'T PAY A DIME! I'M AS RIGHTEOUS AS THE NEXT GUY BUT THEY SURE AS HELL MAKE SURE I PAY!

you could haggle over fair all day long...

but I think it would be illegal... I don't think you can pull/give benefits to those that agree/disagree with you in matters of government and religion...
