Great Question and thanks for participating in Yahoo's Q & A. Yes you can copy and paste your mail to your computer by using notepad or wordpad. best way to save email is right there in email oddly enough....in yahoo email you have an option to move email to a folder, save it there,,,or open another email account and send everything you want to save to that account.

you cant download yahoo it is an online service but u can coppy and paste the e-mails on to a text document

download an email client like inbox or mozilla thunderbird and download the emails to your computer through hose programs

use a mail client that doesn't store the mail on the SMTP server..
