When I make a file for my ftp and try to put pictures or images on my webpage, nothing comes up but a small cross.

A red cross means it cannot find the file. If the link doesn't work in Internet Explorer, it will not work in your HTML code.

Please list the code that you are using. It could be a syntax error, such as you forgot to put quotes, put the slashes in the wrong direction or used the wrong directory. If you are using relative links, I would recommend to use absolute links as a form of troubleshooting.

If you are using a web editor such as FrontPage and link the pictures locally on your hard drive, the FrontPage will actually code the wrong location, such as "C:\windows\desktop\images\picture.jpg">, when it should really be "images\picture.jpg">
