Mothers often have a hard balancing act to manage...Wife, caregiver to children, Tutoring, chores...Sometimes it can seem overwhelming. I'm s a single mother but I made a point to start taking out time for myself to be a better caregiver, and refreshed. I love my children and I realize how can I take care of them without taking care of myself as well. How do you make time for yourself?

Me time? HOH what is that? I have 6 kids under my roof, 4 of my own and I am raising my 2 nieces as well. Did I mention they are under the age of 9. It is very hard to find time, there is always something to clean, wash, wipe, feed, change, vacuum, makeup, and at my house there is a TON of laundry. I am blessed with a wonderful husband, but for me - I don't crave me time like I crave alone time with my hubby.
So to all the moms and stay at home dads - Keep up the great work b/c our efforts make a better children.

P.S. This is my free time - all of mine are fighting the flu. :}

I only became a mother a little less than 4 months ago. I am breastfeeding, and therefore even though I may LIKE to make time for myself, it is just not really an option. however, when I wean my daughter I fully intend to take "me" time, but I also am not sure how to do it. I guess you just have to remember that if you're not happy it will be hard to please everyone else you know, and lets face it that is a main priority in a mom's life.

I need to make time for self. But the best i get is sitting here on the net when the baby is asleep and when my husband is working. Most of the time i feel real lonely.

What time to myself ???? Apparently you are one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to work 2 full-time jobs to support her family. I have 2 children ages 1 and 3. I have a disabled husband.
(He does not recieve any disability income or social security income, yet. Social Security still has to determine if he's disabled
enough to get any.)
I work 2 full-time minimum wage jobs because that's all that is available in this town, eventhough I have a college degree.
Typical day get up at 6AM. Shower. Dress. Dash out door.
Hope I get there on time at 7 AM. Work until 3 PM. Rush to bathroom, change for other job. Rush out door. Hope I beat traffic and am not late for other job, which starts at 4PM. Work to 11PM. Rush home. Fix dinner for husband, kids, and self.
Quickly do as much housework as possible. If I'm lucky, get to bed by 1:30AM.
This is my Monday - Saturday schedule. On Sunday, it's more hectic. Get up at 6AM. Shower. Dress. Get kids and husband up. Fix breakfast. Rush to church. Rush home. Drop kids and husband off. Rush to work. Work until 9PM. Rush to the store.
Hope I don't wait forever in line. Rush Home. Fix dinner. Maybe get to bed by 11:30 PM if I am lucky.

I wish that I did!! I don't have enough time. My husband is gone all the time with his jobs and I only see him 2 days out of the week. I have too many things on my plate! I don't even know who I am anymore. I guess I will have to wait until they go to school! :)

Honey, get used to it. As a mom, especially single, we don't get a break. When you go to sleep, that's your break. And most night you don't sleep without interruptions.
