A sonogram is something they do to see the insides of your body. It can be to see your liver or kidney, a cyst or abnormalties or to find out more of what's going on. It's not just for pregnancy, but for pregnancy it's to see the fetus and the heartbeat etc. to make sure baby has all organs and body parts and is healthy. Also helps give you a due date.

the same as an ultrasound. It is a procedure that uses sound waves to produce a picture of whats in side of you (or your baby if your pregnant). So that doctors can see whats going on. If your pregnant the doctor can see your baby, see if everything is going well with the pregnancy and even see the sex of the baby.

an ultrasound. pretty much sound waves are used to see the baby, similar to sonar radar. sound waves bounce off the baby and show a picture on the screen. that's pretty much the gist of it.
