JC Penny is the best, at least in my area. The good thing is when you go in and have pictures made your not obilgated to buy them.

The Picture People! They do a fantastic job, I've got 3 girls and there are always multiple shots to choose from where ALL 3 of my girls are looking at the camera with a smile! I've tried JC Penny's and Sears and they were not able to do this. We've used Picture People about 5 times this year and each time the pictures look incredible.

They have this option where you can join the picture club and it's definitely worth the money. You pay $39.95 and get the following things as part of the Portrait Club:

**3 Free Portrait Sheets 8x10 or smaller
**3 ten dollar rewards
**One $20 reward for the Smilestore at Picturepeople.com
**Free storage of your negatives for a year
**Members only shopping hours (think first photo shoot of the day)

Along with all this there are always coupons in various parenting magazines and you can usually find some sort of coupon on line. They also have a variety of props that they can use in the picture and do a great job with family shots. We've had pictures taken there for Christmas Cards (which you can even order through them)

That's my pick :) Happy Holidays!

Silversand will come to your house to do the pictures, but they are VERY expensive. I had my son's pictures done at Wal-Mart at 3 weeks old and they were so horrible, it took a long time to go back there. They offered to redo them but nothing could replace pictures of a 3 week old baby a month later. The next time I came back he was 2 and he started crying because he was hungry, so I got him a happy meal (mcd's in walmart) and she said he could take his time eating, she didn't have anyone else coming in for a while. But then about 5 minutes later she was acting aggrivated he wasn't done yet. Needless to say we left and it was another 2 years before we came back. I'm pretty fond of Sears and JCPenney

We always take our little girl to Portrait Innovations...I love them for a number of different reasons. They backgrounds are beautiful and serene, you get the pictures that same day, they don't put your baby on a table or anything, our little girl gets to crawl around on the floor and play with huge stuffed animals, soccer balls, feather boas and anything else she can find. They take like 100 pictures and then you pick your favorites. You can't go wrong!! Oh - check out their $10 pckg!

Sears, you become a smile savers member for 30 dollars and get unlimited sitting fees for two years. Go to sears.com portrait studio for coupons. You can usually get them cheap at Wal-Mart but Sears is better.

I have heard RAVE reviews about Portrait Innovations, but they book up pretty fast. I am getting my son's pictures done at JC Penney tommorow (4 mths old!!)

I have used "The picture people" in the past, and I really liked them, but their pictures are pretty expensive (about $18 per sheet) but you also get them back in ONE HOUR, which is WONDERFUL!!

I included links from all of these places. JC Penney is the most reasonably priced.

I AGREE SEAR'S IS THE BEST. THEY HAVE A WIDE VARIETY OF POSES FROM NEWBORNS IN FLOWER PETALS OR LEAVES TO TEENAGE POSING IN SPORTS WEAR. I LOVE EM!!!! THEY ARE THE MOST CREATIVE FOR YOUR MONEY. AND YOU HAVE 6 MONTHS TO REORDER PICTURES IF YOU RUN OUT OF WHAT YOU BOUGHT. NO ONE ELSE I KNOW DOES THAT. AND YOUR PICTURES CAN BE SEEN ON LINE TO.

If you want to go cheap go to Wal-mart, you get a lot of pictures for a very small cost. Other wise I like Sears or JcPenneys
