I am laughing just thinking about some of the responses I'll get.

On farms. That was where the term came from. People called farmers rednecks because a lot of them had sunburns on the back of their necks only. Rednecks are the reason the rest of us get to eat every day.

Living in the South, I can tell you that Rednecks are all around me. However, I can show you some Rednecks in the (really) rural parts of upstate NY that will make you think the Southern Rednecks graduated from Yale!!

First off I am a redneck.I'm from the south not rural but urban,I have 2 college degrees.I picked up the red neck title from friends when I was in the military with,there were 3 of us from the same general area and the nicknames were "Gomer,Goober,and me Redneck"

Generally speaking, the area of the US south of Interstate 40, from the West Texas border to the east coast, is redneck country. We live in this area because we don't understand the rest of you folks. No offense intended.

Well-the south of coarse! I live in South Carolina. The town I live in is FULL of rednecks! Big trucks,tailgate partys,farms,lots of beer drinking,hole in the wall bars where everyone knows your name,four wheelers,horses,my favorite-the river,oh yeah,and everyones name is"Bo".

Everywhere, they just aren't all called rednecks, some are hillbillies, and I can't remember the other term right now

In the South baby!!!!! Yes sir! and yes around the world in the boondocks. . .But mostly in the SOUTH!!
