We have been living together. on sat, he comes home with a jewerly box. i said what's that, he said it for you. it was a beautiful diamond ring. so i said does this ring mean your proposing, he laughed, then i said okay so u want to marry me, because he has been asking me for a year. and he still laughed. so what does this mean, iam engaged or single..

If he has been asking for a year, it sounds like he is laughing because you were excited. If you want to marry him,ask him to help you pick out a date.

Go get a marriage license and have a little surprise party waiting on him be sure the preacher or a justice of the peace is there. A few relatives with a shotgun-just to be on the safe side. Hint don't let him know anything about your plans! Heck you can get a cake at Food Lion and a bridal flowers to. Get a veil and a white(any color) dress if you want to. Or a pretty white blouse with a veil and tight blue jeans and boots will work just fine Take pictures I want one. Tell him after the wedding just to settle down for the next 60 years or so and not to laugh at you again ever because you are his and he is yours. Be careful with the shot guns. Keep the relatives outside keeping watch all night long until after. Ha ha ha let the laugh be on him! Just pretend you are having a Christmas party.

Personally if I was proposing I wouldn't use a laugh to dismiss anything in the moment especially if it was sarcastic accept it for what it is a beautiful gift, he'll come around, just don't ask and he'll get curious and wonder where that interst went and go hunting for an answer.

You are single, not engaged. He doesnt want to propose to you, despite the ring, for reasons only he can give. Get to know of his serious intentions by talking to him. Do not wear the ting till you are formally engaged.

Until he pops the question, you're still single, and he should probably know this if he's assuming anything. Proposing is a really important day in two people's lives- why would he taint it by not letting you know what is going on? I feel for you...get him to ask!! :)

I think he got alittle nervous. Is it an engagment ring ? Just laugh back and see what he says, but more importantly, how he acts.

you have to answer that. If he's been asking you "the question" for a year now and you haven't responded positively, he's prob scared to get his feelings hurt and his pride won't let him flat out ask you. If u want to marry him, I think that u are engaged. and if so congrats!
