I sold my house and the title company closed well over a month ago. I'm still waiting for final copies of the paperwork from the Title company. What I want are copies which were signed by both parties. I believe it is my right to have copies of these documents in my posession. I have tried calling the Title company. The person who processed my closing does not return my calls. I also left messages with the Title Operations Manager, and he is not returning my calls either. My Realtor's office has also been calling on my behalf and they say the Title company is not returning their calls either. I've since moved out-of-state so walking in the front door and getting in someone's face is not an option. Should I get an attorney at this point or should I wait a little longer?

The title company should have provided you those copies at the time of closing.

I think it might be a bit soon for an attorney, but you should definitely make it clear to them that you are considering it. Don't limit yourself to the manager... find out owner's names etc and harass the heck out of them. Also contact their state insurance department and their underwriter.

This kind of conduct is unacceptable for a title company.

They have 3 days to get you a copy, in the state of Pennsylvania and it varies by state.
When you call, find out who is the head of that company!
Call the head of the company ASAP. Forget the person who processed anything.

Tell them that you shall the Attorney General's office if the head of the agency does not talk to you. And then fax a copy of that statement to their office.

If nothing happens, call the Attorney General's office of that state, and file a complaint - over the internet with their online state's office.

GOD bless!
I sold real estate working my way through college, and that's why people stay seated at the closing table, and refuse to move unless they have a copy of the papers right then and there.
Next time, believe no one!

GOD bless again!
