If the wound is life threatening or potentially life threatening, then you would be well advised to go to the hospital.

If it's not, then you will have to balance the benefit of getting medical treatment against the certainty that you will be answering a LOT of questions for the police. The hospital is legally obligated to inform the police immediately when you report with a bullet wound.

Well hopefully it was a through and through, otherwise you're in for a world of hurt when you dig the bad boy out with sterilized tweezers, if you can find it. Elevate the wound above heart level. Sanitize (I would cauterize personally) the wound, rinse well and apply antibiotic cream. Apply lots of guaze dressing, wrap in gauze for pressure or keep direct pressure on with your hand.
Lots of liquids, unless the victim is going into shock!

Change dressings often and use a crap load of anti-biotics to stave off infection.

It's not just the bullet wound you have to worry about. It's blood poisoning. Self treatment would depend on where and how severe the bullet entered and exited the body.

Take out the bullet with long pliers. then cover the hole with a towel or something to put pressure on it. If you have hit an internal organ, call 911.

Are you crazy? Go to a hospital, it's possible you can die, depending on where the bullet is and what blood loss occurs.

Get Medical Attention Immediatly, Dont try and Self-Treat, Regardless what you or anyone else has ever seen in the movies

Do like Rambo, cauterize it.

Seriously, bullet wounds require professional attention.
Trying to treat it at home can result in death.
Do you want that?
If someone was wounded doing something illegal, would they rather be dead or in jail?

i'm afraid there is not any longer something you're able to do. for sure the wound is contaminated and you probable opt for IV antibiotics as quickly as achieveable. you may tell the physician what ever you opt for to tell him and he will would desire to document it yet your existence would desire to o.k. count on you attending to the well-being midsection ASAP.
