Yes a money order from the USPS can be cashed at a check cashing place.

However, I'm not sure they all do so.

Please be aware you may be charged a premium at such places. (i.e. a fee for cashing & a percentage of the face amount of the money order)

According to the U.S. Postal Service website (www.usps.com),
"Domestic Money Orders:
Can be cashed at any Post Office or can be deposited or negotiated at your financial institution."

Please consider trying a local U.S. Post Office first to save yourself some money.

The money order must be made out to you to cash it. You can cash it at a bank. If you are talking about a payday loan place I don't think you would want to cash it there because they charge a fee to hold a check.
