well you sort of do hear it,,its just muffled down a lot by the exhaust system on the car,,remove the muffler,and you,ll hear each and every one of them almost,,that's why cars have mufflers on them though,,other wise we,d all be deaf,,good luck,i hope this help,s.,,have a good and safe x-mas.

Well since it is a series of rapid explosions it all kind of blends together. That is why when you push on the accelorator the engine gets louder. The more gas that is in the engine the bigger the explosions are. If you want it louder. Unhook the exhaust system you will hear a significant difference

The exhaust system dissipates the sound waves. have you ever heard a drag car in person or an open header engine run than yes you would hear and feel the explosions happening at a rapid pace.

There isn't usually explosions in your car's engine. The air fuel mixture doesn't explode, it burns very fast. There is a difference! The thickness of the engine block, and the exhaust system, muffles the sound of the combustion process.
