I hate flying too, but once I did some research it helped to ease my fears. Look up turbulence and safety records, and all of the things that bother you. I've flown close to 40 times since then and it's no problem now.

Have a couple of drinks in the airport lounge. As soon as you get on the plane, ask the stewardess to bring you a scotch, No Ice. Keep drinking until you get a good buzz. You will sleep through most of the flight.
To Euphus Secretes Liquids who called me a wierdo, !@#$ you. Everytime I come back from Iraq, I always get drunk and pass out. For two reasons: 1: It makes the time go by and 2: It's the first time I've been able to drink in 4 months, so f*ck you!

I HATE flying as well. Every time I go on a plane I almost pass out from nerves. Look forward to hearing suggestions.

tell yourself it doesnt get any better than this so might as well not think about it, even if your body feels and knows it everytime the plane takes off/lands/hits a bumpy patch of air
i just watch tons of movies or else read or eat or sleep. if you can't hold down food due to turbulance, skip on the food and drinks and just make sure you are sufficiently hydrated. think of the fasting as good for your shape. if you cant sleep and you need the rest, then a pill for sleeping might help. also, nausea pill before take off and landing helps. they might also help to conk you out

I just remember that your more likely to crash on the way to the airport then in the sky. Also, I figure as long as the flight attendants are still moving around, everthings ok!

Be honest with yourself. Did you have the fear BEFORE or AFTER 9-11? Analyze what thing(s) you're afraid of. Are they realistic fears? Put yourself as an imaginary interviewer of you. What would you tell yourself / have yourself do to overcome the problem?
