I work for a Company and whenever mail is received, the owner of the company would go through ALL the mail (personal or business) and even if it isn't addressed to her, she will still open it, THEN give it to you. Is that right? She'll even read people's postcards that aren't for her.

In most cases having your personal mail sent to your work address is a violation of company policy. In that case, the employer can claim that anything sent to the work address is considered business mail until proven otherwise. I recommend a post office box.

Totally illegal. One might open mail if that is part of their job for management and it is told to them. However just cause your at work does not mean that the Post Office and federal laws change under your employer's jurisdiction. You might be receiving a letter from the Health Department, your Doctor, etc., because the letter they sent to your home was sent back. Who knows what you might receive there, your long lost sibling that just found you by googling you and your work address came up. you can with a politely sarcastic tone say something like "You opened my mail again?" or try just being direct about it. If all else fails there is the Fair Labor Commission.

So did you employ your own own e-mail deal with to attempt this, if so as that would clarify how he study your emails, you e-mail and password were logged by the artwork workstation. If it truly is what befell it truly is an somewhat iffy challenge, no longer particular if you may do something as you logged on on your own e-mail, at the same time as sure you're saying your boss gave you permission to deliver them to your self, did he comprehend you've been sending it with a own e-mail, if no longer he ought to have considered the e-mail logged, puzzled why there replaced right into a own e-mail contained in the gadget, and examine to be certain what you've been doing with it on employer time. I dont comprehend what else to say. another element, in case you used your artwork e-mail to deliver the message about the hot pastime, he has each and every good to study it, even if you despatched the message from abode.

Yes, that is illegal! When you put a U.S. postage stamp on a letter It is the property of the U.S. postmaster until it is delivered to the addressee and is for the addressee only to open. Tampering with other folks mail is a FEDERAL offense. She should be set straight!!!!!

I don't know about the legality of that, but I open everything that comes in at my job no matter who it's addressed to. I do have to give packages to the owner so that he can decide whether or not it's something he wants to keep for himself.

not sure about the postcards, but businesses read employees mail all the time... it's legal and standard practice (it's their computer and their time, right?)
