Its the ugly truth, but yes.
Ugly people are looked down at, nobody really wants to start talking to them or interact with them. But if they do then they might actually see a great personality and then like you.
But it's harder for them to approach you if you're ugly.
Again, it's the ugly ugly truth

There is actual research which has proven the beautiful people have an advantage. In everything from dating to getting jobs to finding housing the nicer looking person has a leg up. Usually that advantage just helps someone until the have to interact with others but it's an advantage none the less.

Maybe. I can get into nightclubs very easy! I was also popular at school and have always had good looking boyfriends.. But sometimes being pretty can be a disadvantage like people assuming I'm an airhead because I'm "pretty". Or sometimes when I think back to when I was at school people only liked me because of my looks, sometimes this gets me down. Overall though to answer your question yes being "pretty" has given me an advantage in life.

I think alot of people just have low self esteem. I see alot of "pretty" people around me but, they don't feel like they are and they don't exude any confidence. They don't realize that is what is holding them back. Alot of people are "pretty" and they know it and they are more confident and are able to make a way for themselves. What's on the inside is what makes you or breaks you. So, I would have to say no to the naturally having an advantage. They probably get noticed more because of their confidence in themselves.

Unfortunately, in our society (USA) yes. People would much rather be surrounded by other people who look good and are reasonably competant to do the job than someone who is better qualified (within limits) who is not so easy on the eyesThis has been demonstrated on many TV news programs

Confident people have the advantage. Prettyness helps. Especially if their prettyness makes them more confident, which it usually does. Also confidence makes you prettier. Pretty much It all goes hand-in-hand.
BTW, anyone can be prettier if they want to... good hygiene, exercise, and maintance... it can take effort, and like all things, you get out as much as you put in

unfortunately they do. its the way the world works. its like seeing that somebody applying to a job gets it over the person that is more appropriate because the employer like the school better. Pretty people will get the drinks and the attention. it is a first impression and the better looking the better the impression.

well yes first impression make a difference but after that your in trouble if your pretty and have nothing to say People shouldn't focus so much on looks but its just part of human nature to go with first impressions and appearance is a big part of first impressions.

It's very unfair but it happens.
Heck, look around at work or school and you'll see it. If you don't look like the most fabulous thing on earth it seems like you'd get nowhere without brains or something else to fall back on.
Of course, beauty fades eventually...

Unfortunately, yes, But only with first impressions. After getting to know someone a bit, if they have a great personality, they actually become more attractive somehow...
