A sentence has to have a subject and a verb, and expresses a complete thought.
The SUBJECT is who or what did the action- a noun (naming word) or a pronoun (he, she, they etc)
The Verb is the action.
So, for example:
The cat sat on the mat.

"The cat" would be the SUBJECT because its the thing doing the action.
"Sat" is the verb, because that is the action being done.
There are other, way more complex sentence structures, but thats the simplest one. If you try and think of it in terms of- 1 What is being done? and 2. Who is doing it? I find it really helps me.
I wish I had been taught this stuff in grade 8- I'm in grade 11 and I was just taught this year.

I hope this helps!

No one will give u this advice but it works: CRAM

like look over the stuff befor you go to sleep the night before, and u subconciously think about it as you sleep, then cram all the information b4 the test.

I works for my class memorizing 100 different latin and greek stems every other week.

It would help if you give me some examples...but I'm in 7th grade (hello, peer!) and I have this guy called Mr. Flanagan and he makes everything a joke so that we can remember it more. Try that. If that doesn't work, stick your nose in a textbook and study for your life!
No pressure...

Without a specific question, it is hard to help. Find a classmate who is doing well and ask them to tutor you.
