and how does the body defend itself agains disease?

Body system work together at the celluar level, that is through cell-cell interaction or communication. Cells send and receive signals to and from each others. Without them communicating to each other, the body system would not work together.

Organism compose of organ systems. Organ systems compose of organs. Organs compose of tissues. Tissues compose of Cells.

So in order for the body organ systems working together, the cells must interact with each other by sending and receiving specific signals to do specific things.

Body defends itself against diseases and intruders also by the cells within the body communicating with each other.

The Skeletal and Muscular System works together to support and to move the body. :) A simple answer, really. :)
