God and religion was created by man to control the minds of others. Simply put: religion is the original weapon of mass destruction. The big bang theory is based on astronomical observations of galaxies. Everything seems to be moving away from each other. Scientist concluded that the universe it self is expanding and by finding the rate of expansion they simply calculated backwards and found that all matter in the universe had to have been at exactly the same point in a very distant past. So everything must have begun, at that point and at that time, with an extremely rapid expansion. Or a big bang. At first no matter could even exist. It took hundreds of thousands of years for the universe to cool down to a point where atoms could even exist but later atoms of mostly hydrogen formed. The elements that we are made up of were created in the nuclear furnace of the first generation of stars, most of which has long died in supernova explosions seeding the universe with all the elements needed to create life.

The above are correct. We are considered "carbon based" because all known amino acids contain a carbon "backbone". Coming off the carbon backbone are various other elements, such as nitogen, oxygen and hydrogen (found in all amino acids), and sometimes sulfur (found in the amino acids methionine and cysteine). Nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) also contain large amounts of phosphorus in addition to the above. Various others mentioned are important compounds, generally found in cell cytoplasm or outside cells (such as in blood), but ........
Don't forget iron, which is important in hemoglobin in red blood cells and allows them to transport oxygen.
