all my friends have them and say they don't. I heard they can mess up your nails, but their anils are perfectly fine. Do you if it's true?

Yes. Nails need to "breathe" and acrylic poisons/suffocates them.

Worse still are "cheap nails" if MMA is used, you can even have internal organs damaged.

Acrylic nails do harm your original nail to a certain extend. Making it brittle and at times stunting its growth. Usually the surface of your nails goes first where because it does not get the exposure it needs it turns to a different shade of color and the surface will have tiny holes that makes your nails easily broken. But there is a preventive measure you can take to prevent this somewhat. Like nail strengthening oil and cuticle oil.It is advice that you do not wear those nails longer than a prescribe amount of time.

No. Bad nail techs mess up your nails, in any number of ways, usually over filing or applying illegal acrylics (the ones with Meth Methacrylic acid, otherwise known as MMA) Find a good Nail tech, not the ones in the malls.

Yes they can harm you natural nails. you will have to grow your nails out before you got the acrylic off and if you use harm chemicals to take them off your nails will become weak. I advise you not to even bother with them, just beautify your own by spending your money on a manicure or a nice nail polish colour. it will save you money & damage in the long run. good luck.

I have acrylic nails on and they don't actually harm them. Some people say the chemicals harm them but I think their safe.Just try them and if you like them keep them if not get them removed or take them off.Give it a shot their pretty and if you have short nails it helps them grow right!
