I read a lot of young adult books because I teach Jr. High special ed. and am always looking for current fiction to read to my class. I loved Green Angel by Alice Hoffman (all her books actually), but it's a little too "dark" for my kiddos. I'm also a huge Harry Potter fan.

Summer of my German Soldier. Gosh I cried reading that. But it was so good.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy probably doesn't fit into that category...but its one I love as an adult (my favorite book...or books, I should say) and know many, many teens and even some junior highers who love it, despite its length.

It really depends on what you like. I like all sorts of books. But some really good ones are The A-List. (good for teens that like the whole drama deal) White Oleander by Janet Fitch (good for suspence and knowledge--my fav so far) and another one is All American Girl by Meg Cabo
