What was the strangest misconception you had when you were a child?

Someone told me once they believed that if they peed in the swimming pool their name would come floating to the surface spelt out in pee!

That Jesus was born in a big house up the street! A kid told me that and for some reason I believed it for ages!

WHen I was small my uncle made a racist joke that I kind of believe for a long time
GOd was baking cookies in heaven. The first batch wasnt cooked well enough- so those became white people. THe second batch was burned so they became black people but finally the 3rd batch was made to perfection- crisp golden brown. And those became the South Asian ppl. ---- believing that was a waste of my life

I loved the bathtub when I was little, and to get me out my mom told me jokingly that if I didn't I would get sucked down the drain! I believed it for a long time! LOL
