how many charges(cycle)? before it needs to be replaced? is it worth it to get an ipod if it's $126 for a 2GB? (im talking about the new one) even thou it lacks so many feautures such as FM radio, voice recorder, short battery life span, scratches easily and doesn't play videos still! although they have improved in the up to 24 hours play and change the outside to be more scrath resistence and colorful. another thing 2GB and that's up to 500 songs. 500 songs isn't that much is it?

apple states in the owners manual that the battery will charge 400 to 450 cycles at 100% after that you'll get 80% of your battery for the next 400 or so charges. when you need a new battery you just send the whole ipod back to apple to get a new battery cost $50-$60. I think its worth it. I own both a 4gb Nano and a 30gb video and cant live without them.

The only thing apple has going for its ipod is monopoly of the market in psycology. Peopl ethink mp3 player think ipod. Thank apples dominant markating scheme for that, but honestly, there are a million other mp3 players out there that are much better than, its just they dont have the lovely jingle of the ipod.

Getting a new battery for the ipod stinks. Its such a hassle. If you and your friends can stomach you getting another mp3 player, i highly reccomend it. The ipod was pushed on market way to fast, before all proper testing got off the ground, look around at some of the other ones first.

for 126, you're better off buying a new one. I think you got the Silver 2GB nano, but as long as you drain the battery and charge it fully, you won't have those that die out quickly. I bought an Ipod about two years ago and i usually drained the battery. It never died out and I sold it on Ebay, because I didn't need the large amount of disc space.

My 2 GB nano is all i need. 500 songs is a lot for me. I haven't even filled my nano yet.
