You can get patterns at the sewing store. Check out the costume sections of the catalogue particularly. If you're a beginner, you'll definitely want one. You'll probably want boning for support, which requires making little pockets and everything. You can buy the plastic boning at Joanne's, along with the grommetty stuff. I made a bodice for a Halloween costume once, and, while it took some time, it wasn't all that hard.

Real corsets are difficult to make, but there are lots of online resources you can draw upon. The best place to begin is Staylace.

I DON'T THINK YOU CAN MAKE A CORSET IF YOU ARE AN ADVANCE SEAMSTER.
