If you look toward the Middle East, Iran seems to have a lock on the whole Nazi thing. They even have the salute, and goose step down pat. These are some dangerous people over there. Just like in 1938, the world ignores the danger. If only the Unites States was able to set up a large scale force in the middle east, with bases for missle defence, aircraft, and a bunch of soldiers, we might be able to stop them before it's too late.
Oh wait...that's what we are doing!!!! If only the world wasn't so short sighted.
If only we had bases in Poland before 1938, the world might have been different. Isn't it amazing how we forget history?

Interesting set of answers, but I have to say "The Chinese." Why? Because their police system is under the radar, but very effective. Torture, night raids, intimidation, they do it all. Yeah, the NKVD (formerly KGB) is climbing back, but the Chinese secret police have been doing it consistently, longer. Taliban is not a crazy answer, but the Gestapo was pretty low key until WWII blew the lid off of the German police state, and the Taliban are anything BUT subtle...

Damn that's easy! Bush adminstration. Using tactics straight out of Nazi's historical rise to power in Germany. Even to the point of waging wars on countries that weren't at war with them. Excusing the wars under false intelligence. To be "like" the Nazi's you would have to be a major country such as the U.S. because the Nazi's themselves, while national socialists, only existed in Germany and Germany was one of the few really major powers at the time capable of giant army, air force, and just as important a Navy. Of all the countries that qualify I'd have to say that our current adminstration comes closest. Let's check the similarities. Seized power through "tampered" elections, erased human rights, started camps or prisons to house people without legal recourse, detain people solely based on their "ethnicity" or religion, squandering our money on war all the time telling us that we have a great economy here at home, giving huge "no bid" contracts for war supplies to large corporations, and most of all telling us that we are winning no matter what happens. Bush and Goebbels have to be the world's two most adamant liars. Goebbels went to his death still telling the German people that they were winning the war, and Bush is going downhill politically doing the same thing. 71 percent according to tonight's tv polls say that Bush is doing the wrong thing in the Iraq war. Nazi's also went into Africa (which is where the Middle East is) for the exact same reason we did. The OIL!!!

The US government with their we're right everyone else is wrong attitude, the "we must push our type of government on everyone one else" attitude. As far as the Gestapo it could be any number of agencies..FBI, CIA,NSA,NSC...more abbreviations at a later date
