For give me, I know nothing about TIVO. I'm also wondering it's easy to travel with TIVO. I want to get TIVO for my folks, but they have a summer and winter residence, so I don't know if it's worth it for half the year.

It should be fine to move the unit from home to home but it will have to be reconfigured for the local service each time they move.

You could just get them two. I think the Tivo is free if you sign a contract for the service. I think you would get a discount on the second Tivo for service. Check www.tivo.com.
