I have a Mercedes C230 2002 Coupe, and am wondering if a double-din system like D2 or eclipse avn5435 would fit?

crutchfield did say it wouldnt fit, but places like Circuitcity and Cartoys kept telling me it would. They are more expensive than online though, so I want to buy it online and bring it to them to do it - But just want to make sure before i make the purchase

According to crutchfield.com > what fits my car, the Pioneer avic-d2 does not fit.

I'd trust Crutchfield's judgement LONG before I'd trust the hacks at Circuit City! If Crutchfield says it's a no-go, that's good enough for me.

Get a portable nav system. It goes from car to car -- GREAT when travelling -- and you don't have the risk of some d00b messing up your ride.

Remember, it ain't just the size of the hole, it's the finesse with which you fill it that really counts.

Someone might be able to "get it to fit". But the real issue is hooking it up. Mercedes are like rolling network computers and they don't like add on systems. They use a fiberoptic cable to connect all the electronics. Chances are if someone can get the aftermarket navigation system working, other parts of the car will stop working.
