It's disgusting isn't it? I used to go crazy trying to figure the same thing out. I finally realized it's stupid men and their ego.

Now to me, if a 300 lb. man came up giving me compliments and trying to pick me up, it wouldn't give me a thrill. Not true with men for some reason.

My husband had it all. I was little, skinny, we had sex quite often, but I think I was actually alot smarter than he was, that was the big problem.

I seen him with this big fat, homely looking, married woman walking out of work one day. They just acted so strange. His exact words were, "she's a fat ugly pig, You're 100 times better than her".. He was right.

I later found out he was having an affair with her. We went to a marriage counselor. In my mind, I thought he'd want someone more attractive, smarter than me, better than me, etc.

Know what I found out? He wants just the opposite. He wants someone that he can feel better than and more control over. He wants someone uglier, stupider, and he can feel superior to. I know it's hard at the time. It took me a long time to accept it. It makes a lot of sense now though. I was too good for him. That's nothing I should feel bad about.

As a woman, you always think he's looking for something better. Through the years, I've learned that usually your are the best, he's looking for someone to make him feel superior, so don't put yourself down. He's the loser, not you.

I would say that MOST men do NOT. Many do, however. Too many for MY tastes. It's the very same way for women as well. As for myself, I have NEVER cheated on a woman under ANY circumstances, even when I KNEW that a breakup was imminent. I have ALWAYS waited until the relationshiop was irretrievably done with. I know MANY men who feel exactly as I do about these things and, I think that MORE people should go around conducting their relationships in this way. A relationship should and MUST be built on trust and respect and to "cheat" on your partner is a betrayal of BOTH and, not a very honorable way to live one's life. Because cheating has nothing to do with appearance, intelligence or being interesting. It has to do with (in this case) men pursuing a quality or feeling in another woman that they are lacking in themselves. People who cheat are not thinking straight- if they were thinking, they would get out first, then sleep with the other woman, but when they do the opposite, they are trying to fill a void or meet some emotional need that they aren't getting within their marriage or within themselves. Every affair has a different explanation and different circumstances and certainly can not be summed up with a blanket answer but typically, the "other women" are not as attractive, intelligent or interesting because they aren't looking to marry them... they're looking to screw them with no strings attached, thus the standards are set much lower.

I think if you research the question yiou will find out its not an emotional connection for men, its ego, its physical.

Most affairs are initiated in the "opportunity" situation of a workplace. They start out as just "friends" ....Then the friends start sharing intimate details about their marriages, disatisfactions or problems...either way the conversation crosses the line. Then one of them consoles the other with a hug...and it gets more intimate from there.

a lot of times it is not about the looks or sex. it is about a emotional connection. for some reason the man might feel this particular woman will understand him better. and sometiems men are pigs and they jsut want an easy lay.

I could ask the same question of the women. But I still probably wouldn't get an answer.

To see if they can, its like wanting something just because you can and knowing there's a chance of getting in trouble, its the hole forbidden fruit thing.
