If you know shes frikin right listen to her, to me your saying you want to do the wrongs things to piss your mom off. If she told you not to jump off a bridge would you do that too just to piss her off? And it depends on how old you are, if your 18 or older, get out and stop living with her, cause its her house and that means you need to obey her rules!

When you see her opinion as just that and make your own decision. She will always be there for you no matter how old you become and if you tell her something then you will get her opinion. It is the same way as if you tell your friends something if they are good friends then they will give you their opinions and you make your choices from them. Becoming an adult is when you look to your parents for advice but in the end it is your choice. You are lucky that your mom is right, helps you make the right choice does it not?

Tell her just about like that. Mom I am an adult and I need to make decisions for my self. I understand you are trying to help, but some things I need to do on my own right or wrong. But sometimes moms are overbearing and need to be set back in to their own place. I've been on both sides of the coin with my mom.

Sounds like she has had a lot of influence and by the sound of it she mean the best for you and be right about what she says, yet you still need your space. What will happen is that eventually if you can break away and gain some freedom, over time you'll eventually start embracing the same values as her. It's all in how you're raised.
I used to hate most things my parents forced on me, and now, out of the house for 9 years and I'm starting to come around and adopt most of their values since I've come to see them as right.

how old are u.. if you're still a teen.. explain to your mom that you need to make you're own mistakes, and that you feel that this is right right now... if you're an adult (20+) you should be more mature to go with the correct path than just you're own cuz it's different from your moms..

Look at it this way...choose your own path when she gives her opinion and you know shes wrong... but when shes right...shes right...why would you want to consider doing something that you admit to knowing is wrong?
Listen to what you said and how you said it....
It's ok to make you're own decisions.... but respect the guidance she gives.... it's called experience and wisdom.

Damn girl I just went through that. I just got a job at Hooters and my parents tripped about it. I told them I'm old enough to make my own decision. I just told them straight up but still with respect. They will eventually see I'm an adult now. Plus I have a good head on my sholders so that helps to. Just tell them straight up how you feel but with respect. Good luck to you and hope I helped.

Just how you said it!! Tell her how you feel and let her know politely that you have to make your own decisions and if it was a bad one then thats ok. Thats how you learn is from YOUR mistakes. Moms understand..... they just dont want us to make bad decisions and they feel that they protect us regardless if we are grown or not.
