If you are talking about your Federal taxes, it does not matter. If you are referring to a state tax, you will need to file in all states that withheld taxes from you, so you can get some of your tax back. You should be able to go on line to that states tax department and request or print a form to file.

For state, both, if both have a state income tax and you had income in each sufficient to require filing. There's likely a checkbox for "partial year resident" on each of their forms.

For federal, you file once, and show your new address.

You have to pay in both. Our first year married, we had to file/pay in 3 different states. I moved from one state in February, and she moved from another when we got married in June. It initially sounds like a real pain in the but, but using Turbo Tax made it really easy.

Legally, you are required to file in both.

You'll be a partial-year resident in BOTH.
