so there are democrats & republicans, but what other political parties are out there? yes, i am asking for specific independant pary names.

besides the two there are tons, socialist parties, libertarian parties, so on and so forth. The problem is that we have a two party system. Many of these views either fall under republican or democrat. But many of their views are left out, so it turns out to be voting for the lesser of two evils, if you consider yourself something other than a republican or a democrat.

Reform Party, Libertarian Party, Socialist Party, Communist Party, No-Nothing Party, American Independent Party, Whigs, Tories etc. In America, there is now and only ever has been two parties - the Federalists and Anti-Federalists.

The Green party is a big one although they do not have any elected members an the national level. The socialist party is big and i believe has one member in Congress but i will have to check that.
