I just got this very weird anonymous text message on my cell. I know that it was sent online, if I call my carrier, do you think they can trace where it came from? My friend said no...

I'm pretty sure anything online can be traced but using just a cell phone I don't think it would be too easy... I'm reallly not sure if its possible at all but I think the most simple answere would be just to call the carrier and ask. That'll probably be the fastest and most direct way to see if its possible/how its possible.

Im sure they can... if it was sent from a computer than it can be traced from that computer... unless the person is some sort of computer genious and figured out how to block it.. But its most likely a pimply bored teenager lol.. if you really want to know who it is call your provider!

Yes, it's very likely if she wants to pursue it or if you've somehow threatened her and she contacts the authorities. Hopefully you just sent her an innocent message. Websites track IP addresses (the unique number assigned to all computers with internet access).
