What? What do you mean that Santa Claus is not real? You are kidding. Right?

Why would you do that? The child is only a child once. Let him, or her believe Santa is real until he/she finds out differently. Then you can explain that although Santa is not actually a real person, but the spirit of giving, therefore does exist.

Are you kidding? Don't tell him kids that still believe in Santa Claus it part of the fun of Christmas. It will not be near as much fun after he finds out.

I wouldn't tell him/her, they will figure it out themselves if they haven't already. That is part of the fun of being a kid, is being able to believe ridiculous things like Santa, why would you want to ruin it for him?

P.S. I am almost 30 and my mom still pretends like Santa is real, I think its cute

I tell my son (who is 9) that Santa Clause is in everyone. No he may not be one person who supplies the world with presents but Santa is about giving and the spirit of the holidays...without everyones spirit and gerousity there would be no holidays.....

Don't tell him yet. He is much to young. Christmas gets a lot less exciting when you don't believe in Santa. When I found out when I was little I was really disappointed. Wait maybe 1 more year.

When he asks " Daddy, is santa real? But realy tell me the truth." Then you say " No he isn't. He is just a fun thing to pretend about. Just like the tooth fairy and the Easter bunny." That is what I told my child and now she is a great pretender about Old Saint Nick!

He'll come to realize it in time. Meanwhile, you must realize that as a 7-year-old, he's bound to believe in Santa. Encourage his imagination; he'll love you for it. :-)

Wait till he is 9 or so years old. But if you have to tell him he is real but hes just not always the one who puts gifts under the christmas tree.
