I would like to take my children somewhere we could get a hotel room and have a park with snow so they could play and enjoy it without the high cost of tourist stuff. Any suggestions within driving distance of Northen Florida would be welcome.

If you want to see real snow you must go pretty far north...If you can fly my best reccomendation would be Maine or Northern New York...Maine is absolutely beatiful, the reply before about New Hampshire and Vermont is amazing too...the mountains run through those states as well, really nice up there, and you could take them skiing or even tubing on the mountains...the kids would enjoy that...I am from MA, have traveled to all these places, get a nice little place in VT or any of the other places, won't be that expensive, and you can really see snow....good luck...also make sure you try ice skating...hahaha always fun...

You can go to Tennessee , N.C., S.C. and West Virginia to get to snow and thats still the south. Just stay in a hotel that isnt part of a resort that will save ya money...I live in South Alabama and I like the occasional visits up north for the white stuff too! Have fun and dont forget the camera!

You're gonna have to go at least to Maryland or PA and above to see any decent snow. I lived in Pennsylvania and they get some decent snowfall there. North Carolina and Tennessee get snow but only alittle. To see real snowfall amounts, go to the Pennsylvania mountains or farther north. As far as low cost, just pick one of these northern states when you see a good snowfall on the weather channel and go to some small town and get your hotel for cheap and have fun.
