Talk to your doctor about the possibilities of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), or a hormone imbalance. Scheduling an ultrasound is the first step toward finding out what's going with your ovaries, but bloodwork can also be done to detect any hormone levels that are not normal. PCOS can cause some of the symptoms you have, too. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and experience hot flashes regularly, as well as skipped periods and severe ovarian pain. Have you thought about getting on the pill as an option? Birth control pills can sometimes help with hormone imbalances and keep your periods regular as well. Good luck, and I hope you find out what's the matter!

I wouldn't worry to much because those are symptoms of premenopause. Your body will be going through some drastic changes that you are not use to. Also take calcium for healthy bones. Your ovaries will experience some pain but you will get pass that also. You may experience going through a whole mth of your mthly cycle before it will cut off. Then you may experience not having a period for about six or seven mths and then all of a sudden it shows up unexpectedly. Soon it will just stop completely. The hot flashes is a horror!!!!

you should be concerned. you may have some serious condition which is causing the menopausal symptoms at such an early age. it could be a cyst on the ovary(ies), or it could be something more or less serious. keep the appointment and demand to be told the results, not just a simple answer.

You've already got a good start, stay with it. The doctor your seeing is the one to ask the questions to, not us, this is to important to mess around with. Don't worry in the mean time.

i'm not sure. but maybe you have a hormone imbalance. with a hormone imbalance, you have some of the same symptoms as menopause. and you're obviously too young to be going through that, but talk to your doctor about hormone imbalance. all you'd have to do is take pills to balance out your hormones i think.

See your gynecologist. Let her know. I know Soy foods help with hot flashes (tofu, soy milk, soy beans etc). Try that. But see your doctor first! Do not ignore the signs.

Don't worry, just make sure that you keep your appt. and tell your doctor about all of your symptoms...that is very important.
