I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but an excellent book and movie about the first years of the AIDS epidemic (including the probable origin) is And the Band Played On by Randy Shilts.

Articles on Rock Hudson and his last years on Dynasty was a big media event because of his kiss w/ Krystal Carrington. {i forgot her real name}

There was also a t.v. movie called "Patient 51" or something like that. Based on that flight attendant that had a stopover in Africa or something, slept around, and brought AIDS to america.

Aids is a very recent discovery. I would be surprised if you found anything.
